A Cappella Records at LA-AF

This Saturday, the Second Annual Los Angeles A Cappella Festival (LA-AF) will take place.
Five members of the A Cappella Records (ACR) team are heading down to UCLA to take part in this all-day event filled with classes and performances alike (and our VP of Communications, Ross Morey, is the driving force behind the event itself). ACR President Chris Crawford will lead a morning class about digital distribution, and three of our collegiate clients - Awaken A Cappella, the Stanford Harmonics and Stanford Mixed Company - are also participating in this landmark event.
Mixed Company recently released their newest album, "Yours Truly," on iTunes and Amazon in December and we're excited to see their initial sales numbers in a few weeks.
The Harmonics have made an international splash with the 2008 release of "Escape Velocity," which won numerous awards and been featured on BOCA 2009 and SING V: groovus. They blew the audience away at last year's inaugural LA-AF and we look forward to hearing another electric performance.
Awaken A Cappella's 2007 album "Life's a Beach" has been extremely successful ever since it launched with ACR, and their single "Book of Love" continues to dominate our charts.
Headlining the evening concert is world-renowned, professional a cappella group, m-pact - also a client of ACR. They represent major development for the label, as we strive to get more a cappella music into the mainstream. These six professional singers will teach classes, then walk the proverbial walk as they show an audience of over 1,000 a cappella enthusiasts how to put on a show.
We are thrilled to take part in this Saturday's festival, and we hope to see you there!
