On the Rocks

On the Rocks is the University of Oregon's premiere all male a Capella group. The group was founded in 1999, the first official collegiate a cappella group in Oregon. It has since flourished into one of the top collegiate groups in the nation. OTR has gained national notoriety through its dedication to quality, ensemble, and above, all, cutting loose on stage. Perhaps most notable is the group's second place ranking in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella 2003, and third place the previous year. OTR has toured on the West and East coast, and also to Canada. These men are classically trained to rock your socks!

A Fifth, the brand new (fifth) album from the YouTube a cappella superstars "On the Rocks" is now available on iTunes. Recorded and produced by Peter Hollens, mixed by Ed Boyer, and mastered by Bill Hare, this is the all-male ensemble's most impressive album to date. It's got 3 original songs, the YouTube hit "Bad Romance", the Goofy Movie song, a joint song with the University of Oregon's Divisi, 80s classics and a bit of T-Pain. Full album purchases come with a digital booklet with all soloists, arrangers, vocal percussionists and a few puzzles.

The Green Room

The Green Room is the fourth album released by University of Oregon's On the Rocks and was a CARA nomination for "Best Male Collegiate Album". Its tracks range from ballads such as Josh Groban's "Lullaby" and Josh Kelley's "Almost Honest" to R&B hits such as John Legend's "Number One" and Outkast's "Roses" mixed with Gnarles Barkley's "Crazy" to country classics such as Big and Rich's "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy". OTR "Rick Rolls" its audience with the opening track of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up," which was featured on BOCA 2008 and was also a CARA nomination for "Best Male Collegiate Song." RARB gives the album a 4.7 out of 5 and calls it one of the best male collegiate albums of the year.

Backgammon Sessions

Backgammon Sessions is OtR's second studio release. After ironing out the kinks of their first album release of OtR, Backgammon Sessions put OtR in the national spotlight with "Yellow" by Coldplay making onto BOCA (Best of Collegiate A Cappella) and the first OtR original "I Would Fly" by Chris Dobson. Backgammon is still a favorite among current OtR fans and members because of its "pure" sound. Although this album was recorded in the studio, Backgammon stays close to its roots in pure vocal talent!
