Acquire A Cappella
The mighty vessel known as Acquire A Cappella is manned by a crew of 17 who hail from UC Santa Cruz. The crew have been sailing up and down the West Coast since 2007, with the upcoming ICCAs marking their first voyage to Oregon. Up next on Acquire's plotted course is the recording of their debut album. They will also continue to hoist the sails at their annual Acquirefest every spring. Following the popularity of the their YouTube video, Acquire went into studio at A Cappella Records to create a digital single. Produced by Charlie Forkish (The Harmonics / Forkish Productions) and Chris Crawford (Founder of Acquire and A Cappella Records), this single bring the hip-hop intensity of the original with the vocal power of a cappella. To bring this song to larger audiences, Acquire created a brand new clean lyrics version that is family and radio friendly. "Awww Ship!"
